What VidStow knows about you, and what it never asks for.

The waitlist

When you join the waitlist, we keep your email address and the computer you picked, so the launch email can point at the right download. The list is kept in a database on Cloudflare, which already runs this website, and no other company sees it.

We use the address for one thing: telling you VidStow is out. There is no newsletter, and we never sell or share the list. After launch the list is deleted. To leave it sooner, reply to any email from us or write to privacy@vidstow.com, and we will remove you.

Buying VidStow

VidStow is sold through Dodo Payments, which is the seller of record: it takes your payment, handles your card and billing details, and follows its own privacy policy for them. We never see or store your card number. We receive your email address, your country for tax, and what you bought, so we can send your license key and help with refunds.

To check a license, the app sends the key and a random ID for that computer, so the three-computer limit works. It does not send your downloads, links, file names or history.

This website

The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not follow you across other sites. It sees roughly which page you opened, your browser, and your country. The site loads no ads, no trackers and no fonts from third parties.

In the app, diagnostics are optional

VidStow does not send automatic diagnostics until you explicitly choose Send diagnostics. You can choose Don’t send or change the setting later. Disabling it immediately deletes diagnostic events waiting on your device to be sent. Your separate local diagnostic history remains available until you clear it or its seven-day limit expires.

What automatic reports contain

Reports are sent only when VidStow cannot complete a requested download or encounters an app failure. They may contain app and engine versions, operating-system major version, architecture, random session and event IDs, a typed failure category, and coarse duration ranges.

VidStow does not create or transmit an installation, device, operation, or resource identifier. Automatic reports do not contain the original page URL, cookies, authorization data, tokens, signatures, media-delivery links, player code, filenames, download paths, titles, arbitrary error text, request bodies, or raw stack traces.

Manual support reports are separate

Copying diagnostics keeps the report on your clipboard for you to review and share. A future in-app submission flow will show the complete payload before upload and let you remove the page URL, recent sanitized events, optional description, and optional contact information. Free-form text will never be uploaded later in the background.

Cloudflare processing and storage

Cloudflare operates the ingestion Worker and D1 database. Cloudflare necessarily processes connection metadata such as source IP while serving a request. VidStow’s application code does not write source IP addresses, forwarded-IP headers, or user-agent strings to D1.

Detailed automatic events are retained for 30 days. There are no automatic health summaries, resource identifiers, or request type fields. D1 retains the listed event fields alongside a keyed payload digest for idempotency. Future manual reports will be retained for no more than 180 days. The digest key is stored as a Worker secret rather than in the database or desktop app.

Deletion and contact

Because automatic diagnostics contain no account or installation identifier, VidStow cannot reliably find every automatic event from one person. Future manual reports can be deleted early using their report reference. For a privacy question or deletion request, write to privacy@vidstow.com.
